What I need:
Monsters I haven't been able to resolve from the npc data base I received:
All monsters accounted for.
Items I haven't been able to resolve from the item data base I received:
Name | Examination and/or problem. |
Blurberry badge | An official cocktail maker. No idea what it takes to get this. |
Gianne badge | An official gianne chef. No idea what it takes to get this. |
NPCs I haven't been able to resolve from the npc data base I received:
Name | Examination and/or problem. |
Shar | Concerned about the economy. Not a clue. |
Drucas | Engraver. Not a clue. |
Tourist | Human. Looked in a lot of places. No idea. |
Mehman | Local. Looked in a lot of places. No idea. |
Yanille Watchman | A captured guard of Yanille. No idea. |
Bartender | A friendly barman. Checked a lot of bars...no find. |
Carla | She's usually referenced as being in West Ardougne, but I haven't found her. Maybe only during the Biohazard quest. |
What I can't get myself:
Image: Quest: Dwarf Cannon: Lollk
This is tricky. His head pops up very briefly once found, so getting an image is quit difficult and you only have one chance.
Image: Quest: Prince Ali Rescue: Prince Ali (Disguised)
Quest: Pirate's Treasure: XPs for Wyson the gardener (Falador Park)
This is tricky. You need to kill him twice. I believe if you dig in the garden, kill him, then wait for him to respawn, he may attack you again if you try to dig again.
Quest: Heros' Quest: XPs for making the Blamish oil potion.
You can make this potion only during the quest.
Stat information for the Stat Outfit Viewer:

Submitting Monster Information
Monsters are classified as any NPC (non-player character) that you can attack.
Most monsters have a specific set of random items they can drop. Several monsters may drop nothing at all like ghosts or if they don't have an "always drop" may not drop anything on a specific kill.
Some monster may always be agressive when encountered in the wilderness.
When submitting information on a monster try to supply as much of the following information as possible:
|
Name | The in-game name you see when you hover the cursor over the monster. |
Image | See Taking an Image. |
Level | This is the combat level of the monster. You see it when you hover the cursor over the monster. |
Hits | The number of hits the monster has. This is difficult to determine since the last blow does not show how much damage occurred. I'm not sure if the melee hits are the same as the range hits. |
Melee XPs |
This is the number of experience points received from meleeing the monster with a specific combat mode: agressive - strength, accurate - attack, defensive - defense. This value is computed from the Total XPs.
To get the Total XPs:
Record your Hits XPs before fighting the monster.
Kill 2 of the monster.
Record your Hits XPs.
Subtract the second number from the first.
Divide by 2.
Multiply by 4.
Example:
Hits XPs to start with: 186,342
Hits XPs after killing 2 of the monsters: 186,355
Second number minus the first number is: 13
Hits Xps per monster (divide by 2): 6.5
Monster Total XPs (multiply by 4): 26
|
Ranged XPs | This is the number of experience points received from ranging a monster and is the Total XPs the monster has. |
Agressive? | No, never starts an attack. Yes, attacks if your combat level is low enough. Always, will always attack you. Special, see the notes. |
Flee combat? | No, fights to the death. Yes, if it's hits drop low enough will try to flee. |
Race | The general race or type of creature. |
Quest? | No. Not specifically associated with a quest. Yes, may be used in a quest. Only, specifically used or of use only in a quest or quests. |
Location | The (not necessarily all) areas in which this monster can be found. |
Always drop | This is a list of items the monster always drops (not random) when killed. |
Common drop | This is a list of random items the monster will most likely drop better than 1 in 50 kills. |
Uncommon drop | This is a list of random items the monster has a good chance of dropping better than 1 in 250 kills. This is not a guarantees. |
Rare drop | This is a list of random items the monster rarely drops better than 1 in 2000 kills. This is not a guarantees. |
Very rare drop | This is a list of random items the monster drops about 1 in 2,000 kills or less. The ration comes from the experience reported by many players over the years, they are not guarantees. |
Notes | Interesting or additional useful information. This could be almost anything. If related to a quest, give the name of the quest. |

Taking an Image
Watch your subject (monster or NPC) and see where he stands straight the most often. Try to minimize the background as much as possible. In other words make sure the patterns and colors of the background are as different from the patterns and colors of the subject as possible, then set-up your shot.
The best image is obtained when the subject is on the top of a hill or mound filling the view as much as possible, facing straight on (minimizing the lean) while you are standing in as low an area as possible.
The next best way is as before except move as far back from the view as possible, then set-up your shot.
Make sure you don't cut off the feet, head, arms or objects being worn/carried.
You can either do a screen shot or use a capture program on the game window. Make sure the format of the image is stored in either TIFF or PNG (see the data base About page covering image formats). Open the image in a image editor and select the subject including several extra pixels around the subject, then Trim the image. Make sure you do not scale or modify the image in any way other than trimming off the excess background. Save the image in the PNG format. Whatever you do don't compress the image.
For an item, capture the image with the item in you inventory. Store and bank images are many times obscured by the quantity indicators. Trim the image to include the borders of the box the item is in.
For an object like a location, rock on the ground or the outfit you are wearing, make sure you are getting an image from the lit side of the object.
For a map capture from the minimap. Capture the image with north pointing directly (straight) up. You may have to move around a little to get good line generation from the minimap for walls. It's not possible to get a perfect minimap capture. When capturing large areas with the minimap try to have the various areas overlap a little (enough to align them). You should submit the individual pieces (just label them so I can tell which piece goes where). Supply the name for the map as best as you can determine and a description where the area is located or if a dungeon where the surface entrance is. If there are creatures in the various sections identify them by name and combat level and the main sections they are found in.
For a general graphic keep the size reasonable and with a point of use in RSC.

Submitting Images
The easiest way to submit an image is by attachment. Try to supply information in the body of the e-mail of what the image is/for. Also identify yourself (game name) and maybe a date and time of capture or generation. Credit is only given for original artwork (see the declaration below) where used. If you submit an image that requires no work on my part that goes into one of the data bases that has a notes field, you can place your game name there (if the name is acceptable).
No RS2 information or screen captures please.

Submitting a Special Guide
You do not need to create an HTML web page for your special guide. Nearly all of the special guides are created as simple text files with a place holder ([ image big boat goes here ]) for where you want an image placed. However, if you want the special guide to appear in a specific way, then by all means submit you HTML page and attach the images to the e-mail. Just take into consideration that every page on the site must pass XHTML 1.1 and CSS 2.0 standards (all pages are tested before being placed on the site), the code must be efficient, readable and maintainable. If you need JavaScript, you will need to e-mail me more details.
You may use any one of the current pages on the site as a template or as an example. There is nothing special about the js (external JavaScript) or css (external CSS) files. They are just used to store common code or declarations. The js files are just large JavaScript Array files which makes maintaing the various data bases a lot easier. Occasionally with a new web page that does something new using JavaScript there may be a debugger loaded. Normally this is disabled once the page is up on the web site. It is supplied by a friend and is free to use an allows me to debug the JavaScript code when it hits debug calls. You can just ignore it. If you turn it on, the debugger will open it's own window showing some information.
